Chapter 12. Editing and Using Tag Librar... > Tag Attributes and the Tag Inspector

Tag Attributes and the Tag Inspector

You may have wondered why all the sturm und drang about tag attributes. The main reason customizing them is important is that you can set them in the Tag Inspector—that is, they’re included in that nifty editing tool that includes all legal attributes for all legal tags. In other words, we’ve now made our new attributes legal, as far as Dreamweaver is concerned. We covered setting tag attributes with the Tag Inspector panel in the Tag Inspector (Tree view) section of Chapter 11.

This may not seem like a big deal, but the combination of the Tag Inspector and Dynamic Data can add some power to your page. By using the Tag Inspector to set a tag attribute dynamically, we can do all sorts of things—reformat tables, supply new or updated class attributes for CSS formatting, change the color of a page, or supply a new location for an image or inline text file.
