Chapter 7. Displaying Query Results > About Repeating Regions

About Repeating Regions

When you want to display several rows of data, you can repeat the request for data and display those results sequentially. Think of a search engine: When you search for “picnic baskets” you may get hundreds of results, and each result is either a record, a few records, or an entire row of data in your table. That row includes data such as the title of the matching page, that page’s URL, its keywords, the date the search engine last visited it, and a summary of the page.

Using the Repeat Region behavior, you can show the values from multiple records, and from multiple data rows, on a single page. In other words, each row may contain a name, an address, and a phone number, and to display several of those rows, you can use a repeating region to display the requested data.
