Making Frames Accessible

Each frame in a frameset is a discrete HTML document. Frames have been around long enough now for most software to be able to load them properly, but not necessarily to know which frame to deal with first or whether a frame is important to the content of a page.

Frames always have a name attribute that you use when targeting links into a particular frame. For accessibility purposes, frames also take a title attribute that can be the same text as a frame name but can instead be meaningful text such as “Table of Contents,” “Main Body,” “Just a Logo,” or “Visit Our Sponsor.”
