Chapter 5. Working with Images > Placing an Image

Placing an Image

There are several ways to place images onto Web pages using Dreamweaver.

To place an image:

1.
With the desired page open in the Document window, click at the place on the page where you'd like the image to appear.

2.
From the menu bar, select Insert > Image (Figure 5.3).

Click on the Image button in the Common tab of the Insert toolbar (Figure 5.4).

Press Ctrl+Alt+I (Command+Option+I).

Regardless of the method, the Select Image Source dialog box will appear (Figures 5.5 and 5.6).

3.
If you know the location of the image on the Web or on your computer, type it in the URL text box.

or

Browse through the files and folders on your computer until you find the image file. Click on the image file's icon or file name, so that its name appears in the File name text box.

4.
Click OK (Open/Choose) to close the Select Image Source dialog box. The image will appear at the insertion point in the Document window.
