Selecting Elements

To modify a table cell, column, or row, or a table itself, you need to select it.

To select a table in either view:

1.
Click within the table.

2.
Click the <table> tag in the tag selector (Figure 12.26).

Figure 12.26. When you click within a table, these tags appear in the tag selector. Click on a tag to select it. The tags are <table>, <tr> for table row, and <td> for table data, a.k.a. cell. Table columns do not have their own tags.

Click on the table's outside edge.

Either way, your table will be selected (Figure 12.27) and you can copy, cut, drag, or delete it.
