Image Rollovers

Image rollovers let you seemingly stack two images on top of one another so that when you perform an action in the browser such as mousing over an image, another image appears. This is how button “highlighting” (Figure 7.4) and other, similar image tricks happen.

Figure 7.4. One common use of image rollovers is a set of buttons that “light up” when they're moused over. Dreamweaver's Insert toolbar and Assets panel use image rollovers to make buttons appear “pushed in” or “lit up.”
