Chapter 8. Fonts and Characters > Creating a Font Group

Creating a Font Group

Dreamweaver offers several preset font combinations, shown in Figure 8.22. You can also define your own font combinations and add them to the list of available fonts.

To create a font group:

1.
From the Document window menu bar, select Text > Font > Edit Font List.

or

In the Property inspector, choose Edit Font List from the Font Face drop-down menu (Figure 8.25).

In either case, the Edit Font List dialog box will appear (Figure 8.26).

2.
Dreamweaver's existing font combinations will appear in the Font List text box. All system fonts installed on your computer will appear in the Available Fonts list box.

3.
Locate your first-choice font in the Available Fonts list box and click it.

4.
Click the Left Arrow button, and the font's name will appear in the Chosen Fonts list box (Figure 8.27).

5.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all the font faces you want to appear in this particular font combination. You may want to add additional choices that resemble your font in case the user doesn't have it available.

6.
To add the name of a font you don't own, type it in the text box below the Available Fonts list box. For example, you may have Bookman on your Mac, but if you want to make Bookman Old Style your second choice and you don't have it, you need to type it here.

7.
To remove a font you chose, click the Right Arrow button.

8.
When you've chosen the right combination of fonts, click the + button to add the font combination to the Font List list box.

9.
When you're all done, click OK to close the dialog box and return to the Document window. Your new font combination will be available in the Text > Font menu and in the Property inspector's Font Face drop-down list (Figure 8.28).
