Using Font Faces

You can set the typeface, or font, for any text on your page. Unless you specify a font face, any text on your pages will appear in the user's browser window in their browser's default font face (Figure 8.20). Most users probably have Times New Roman (Times) as their default proportional font, although some may have changed it.

Figure 8.20. On this page, I haven't set the font face for any of the text, so most of it appears in Times New Roman, a very readable font that everyone has installed. The insert is in the <tt> tag, one of the text styles we saw earlier, so it appears in Courier, a monospace font.
