Names and Values

Each gadget, or form field, in a form is also known as an input item (the HTML tag is often <input>). That means it's used to collect input from the people who use it.

Each input item is represented in the form results by a name and a value. The name is a unique signifier that tells you (or the script handling the form) which field is which. The value is the content of the field.
