Lesson 9. Using Templates > What You Have Learned

What You Have Learned

In this lesson, you have:

  • Created a template from an existing page by saving the page as a template (pages 277–278)

  • Added editable areas to the template in order to allow changes to be made on pages built from that template (pages 279–283)

  • Removed editable areas from the template in order to prevent changes from being made on pages built from that template (pages 283–284)

  • Created optional content areas that could be shown or hidden in subsequent pages (pages 285–286, 292)

  • Inserted repeating regions that allow pages based on the template to have as many or as few entries as needed (pages 286–288, 293–294)

  • Changed the template highlight colors for both editable and locked regions (page 287)

  • Built multiple pages based on the template in order to create pages with the same layout (pages 289–291)

  • Made changes to the template and updated multiple pages within the site to reflect those changes (pages 295–297)

  • Created and used editable tag attributes for more control over specific elements (pages 297–300)

  • Nested a template to create a variation on the main layout that is still controlled by the original template (pages 301–304)
