Lesson 8. Using Libraries > Recreating a Library Item

Recreating a Library Item

If a library item is accidentally deleted from the Library category of the Assets panel and you still have a page showing the library item, you can recreate it.

1.
In the lights.html document, select the library item at the top right of the page by clicking once on the introduction image.

This library item that you will recreate is a simple table with three images, just like one you created in Lesson 4. The entire item is selected and grayed out to show that it cannot be edited within the document. Although this element was marked as a library item in the document window, it does not appear in the Library category of the Assets panel.

NOTE

You are unable to see any of the yellow highlights on this library item because there is no space between the images in the table. The highlight that indicates a library item shows up around the items contained in a library item—it does not display over the top of an image.

2.
Click Recreate on the Property inspector.

The library item file is recreated with the item name used on this page; it will now show up titled as “menu” in the Library category of the Assets panel.
