What You Have Learned

In this lesson, you have:

  • Performed site-management functions within the Site window, including creating new files, renaming files, and moving files (pages 192–199)

  • Created a site map, viewed it horizontally and vertically, used it to manage your files, and learned how to save the site map as an image (pages 200–207)

  • Customized the Site window and edited the columns (pages 208–211)

  • Used the Update Files dialog box to ensure that your paths and links stay correct when you moved files (pages 210–211)

  • Learned the difference between a local site and a remote site, how to use local/network and FTP to connect to servers, as well as how to define and edit both kinds of sites (pages 211–215)

  • Set up a connection to a local/network folder as your remote site (pages 211–216)

  • Copied files to and from a remote site using the Select Newer Local command to save time (pages 216–219)

  • Enabled cloaking to prevent certain file types from being uploaded or downloaded (pages 220–223)

  • Used the Check In/Out Options for collaboration (pages 224–228)

  • Attached a design note to a file, edited design notes, and learned to use them to share information with team members and keep track of file status and versions (pages 228–230)
