Lesson 17. Extending Dreamweaver > Advanced Customization

Advanced Customization

Up to this point in the lessons, you've worked with a wide variety of Dreamweaver's toolbars and panels. In Lesson 1, you learned how to arrange the toolbars and panels by rearranging their order within existing panel groups, moving them to different panel groups, creating new panel groups, as well as docking and undocking panel groups. You worked with the Dreamweaver Preferences throughout the book. In this lesson, you've learned how to install extensions as well as create your own objects.

There are many other things that you can do to customize Dreamweaver to suit your needs. Other possibilities include, but are not limited to: changing FTP Mappings to specify file extensions and file creators; customizing the Dreamweaver menus by adding, removing, changing, or moving menu items; changing the keyboard shortcuts; customizing default documents; customizing browser profiles; and creating your own extensions.
