Lesson 15. Creating Layers > What You Have Learned

What You Have Learned

In this lesson, you have:

  • Created layers by drawing them in the document window and by inserting default, pre-sized layers (pages 452–456)

  • Named layers to keep track of them in the Layers panel (pages 456–457)

  • Selected single and multiple layers, modified their sizes and locations, and aligned them relative to each other (pages 458–463)

  • Used layers to control the placement and display of content on your page (pages 462–463)

  • Changed the stacking order of layers in order to specify the order in which they display from top to bottom (pages 463–465)

  • Nested and unnested layers to understand how layers can work in groups or become nested accidentally (pages 465–468)

  • Changed layer visibility to hide and show entire layers (pages 468–469)

  • Set rulers and grids to help when moving layers on the page (pages 469–472)

  • Combined layers with behaviors to let users interact with your pages (pages 472–475)

  • Made pages designed with layers compatible with earlier browsers by converting the layers to a table (pages 475–478)

  • Learned to insert or remove a JavaScript to remedy a Netscape bug that causes viewing problems with layers (pages 478–479)
