Lesson 10. Creating Frames > Creating Other Content Documents

Creating Other Content Documents

You now need to create additional documents to open in the content frame.

1.
Choose File > New to create a new HTML document. Save the file as local_history.html in the Lesson_10_Frames folder and title it Lights of the Coast: Locations: Local History. Choose Modify > Page Properties to set the background to white and the text to black. Set the links to #330000, the visited links to #333333, and the active links to #660000.

The document title bar changes to reflect the title and filename for the document.

2.
In the local_history.html document, place the location_header.gif at the top of the document. Copy the text from Lesson_10_Frames/Text/local_history.txt and paste it on a new paragraph line below the graphic header. Format this text as Verdana, –1.

This is the content page that will correspond with a Local History link, you will create on a navigation bar later in this lesson.

3.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 to create construction.html in the Lesson_10_Frames folder. Title it Lights of the Coast: Locations: Construction. Use construct_header.gif for the graphic header and construction.txt for the text.

This is the content page that will correspond with a Construction link you will create on a navigation bar later in this lesson.

4.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 to create relocation.html in the Lesson_ 10 _Frames folder. Title it Lights of the Coast: Locations: Relocation. Use relocate_header.gif for the graphic header and relocation.txt for the text.

This is the content page that will correspond with a Relocation link you will create on a navigation bar later in this lesson.

You can close local_history.html, construction.html, and relocation.html. Leave the locations.html file open to use in the next exercise.
