Lesson 16. Animating with Timelines > Recording the Path of a Layer

Recording the Path of a Layer

The method you just used in the last exercise for animating a layer works great when you want to control the movement of the layer in a few frames. You can also use another method that follows your pointer as you drag the layer on the page. Dreamweaver tracks your movement and creates the keyframes on the timeline for you. Dreamweaver also matches the time you take when dragging the layer. The slower you drag, the more keyframes are added, and the longer the animation bar becomes. You can then alter the time or the keyframes on the timeline.

In this exercise, you will add a third ship to the animation and drag the layer to create the path.
