Lesson 16. Animating with Timelines > Adding Behaviors to the Timeline

Adding Behaviors to the Timeline

Adding a behavior to the timeline is similar to adding a behavior to any other object, except that you attach the behavior to a single frame in the timeline and not to the entire animation bar. The behavior is added to the Behaviors channel, and a dash in the Behaviors channel indicates which frame the behavior was applied to.

In the previous exercise, the layers that appeared when the ship layer moved near them were added to the timeline. In this exercise, you will make the whiteText layer stay hidden and appear when the ship layer moves near the white layer without adding the whiteText layer to the timeline. You will use behaviors to display the layer at a specific point in the timeline.
