Lesson 12. Dynamic, Data-Driven Sites > Passing Data Between Pages

Passing Data Between Pages

You've done a lot of reading and conceptualizing in this chapter, so now is a good time roll up your sleeves and take a stab at a simple ColdFusion technique: passing data between pages. As discussed earlier in the lesson, the Web is a stateless protocol: The server forgets who you are the second you are done downloading a page. One way to deal with this problem is to pass data from one page to another, so the second page retains information from the first.

In this task, you will create a simple Web form on one page, and send that data to a second page. That page will display the data entered on the first page. It will show you how ColdFusion templates become simple HTML pages and prove that you configured your site correctly.
