Most computer books by their very nature are inwardly focused on the software or technology that appears in the title, whether it's Flash, XML, or Dreamweaver. A title focused on a certain use of technology (in this case, eLearning), rather than the technology itself, is a bit out of the ordinary and took a little convincing. For this reason, I'd like to thank both my agent, Chris Van Buren, and my editor, Wendy Sharp, for their belief in the title.

I am also grateful to Indiana University's School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, most notably Hyo-Jeong So, for making me aware of ongoing faculty projects, interests, and technical skill levels. By sharing your ongoing projects with me, I was able to refine the content to meet the needs of this audience more specifically. Thanks also to Harriet Fierman and Damon “King” Dorsey at Indiana University's Financial Management Services: your support, understanding, and indulgence has been greatly appreciated.

I also gratefully acknowledge the work of the editorial team at Peachpit, who asked the hard questions, raised the red flags, and clarified the writing: Wendy Sharp and Peggy Gannon. Thanks also to Macromedia's James Polanco for catching all my fibs.
