Lesson 4. Working with Text and Tables > Creating a new Web page

Creating a new Web page

In this lesson you'll create a new version of the appraise.html page you just looked at.

1.
In GoLive, choose File > New Page.

2.
Choose File > Save As, and save the untitled.html document as appraise.html. Save the document in the Lessons/Lesson04/04Start/ folder.

Note

To keep this lesson simple, you'll work in a page outside the site window. This isn't normally recommended, however.

Now you're ready to begin designing the page. First you'll change the title of the page. When viewed in a Web browser, the title of the page appears in the title bar of the browser.

3.
Select the page title, “Welcome to Adobe GoLive 6.”

4.
Enter Appraisal Page as the new title.

Now you'll select a window size for the page. The window size is valid only in GoLive, not browsers. However, it can help you limit the design of your page to fit within a desired window size. For the lessons in this book, we've generally used a window size of 580 pixels to accommodate users with 14-inch monitors.

5.
Choose 580 from the Window Size menu in the lower right corner of the document window.

6.
Choose File > Save to save your work.
