Review questions

1:How do you create a head action?
A1: You create a head action by dragging a Head Action icon from the Smart set of the Objects palette to the head section of a document.
2:Why is including a browser switch action a useful feature for a home page of a Web site?
A2: Including a browser switch action on the home page of your Web site lets you direct visitors using older browsers to an alternate version of your site. This lets you use the latest Web technologies without worrying whether the site will appear as-designed on older browsers that cannot display frames or cope with JavaScript scripts or floating boxes.
3:How do you set an image as a link that allows you to assign an action to the image and lets the visitor remain on the current page?
A3: You select the image, click the New Link button in the Inspector, and set the link to #. After you have done this, you can assign actions to the image so that it can respond to mouse clicks or other events.
4:How do you assign an action to a link?
A4: You select the desired link and assign actions to it using the Actions palette.
5:What is the difference between OnCall and OnLoad actions?
A5: An OnCall action runs only when some event, such as a mouse click by a viewer, triggers the action. An OnLoad action automatically runs when a viewer first opens the page in a browser.
6:How is a JavaScript script different from an action in the Actions palette?
A6: The actions available in the Action palette are premade actions that come with GoLive. A JavaScript script is a function called by the Call Function action. Writing your own scripts, if you're familiar with JavaScript, provides a way to augment the GoLive built-in actions with your own custom scripting code.
