Lesson 15. Creating Design Diagrams > Looking at the first design diagram

Looking at the first design diagram

First you'll explore an example of an in-progress design diagram. Examine this first draft design to familiarize yourself with its architecture.

1.
In GoLive, choose File > Open, and double click the Design Diagram.site file in Lesson15/15Start/Design Diagram folder/ to open the site window.

2.
In the site window, select the Diagrams tab, and double-click the design diagram GaiaQuest_design_01 to open it. You may wish to maximize the design diagram window.

There are four tabs in the design diagram window.

The Design tab is where you layout the architecture of the Web site.

3.
Click the Master tab to open the master view where you add objects that will appear on every page (in a multipage diagram), such as the design company's logo for branding purposes.

4.
Click the Staging tab to see how your design diagram relates to the live site. This view also displays error and warning icons if you use the Check Staging command to validate your site.

5.
Click the Annotation tab to see a summary of all the comments on your design diagram.

6.
When you have finished reviewing the design diagram, choose File > Close and close the GaiaQuest_design_01 design diagram.
