Managing Tasks

Teams often break one large task into several smaller ones that different team members work on in sequence. Let's say, for example, you're managing a project team to create an HTML template. The functions are divided as follows: First, an information architect creates a functional mock-up of the page. Second, a graphic designer creates a visual look for the page. Third, a production person turns the visual look into an HTML document. Fourth, a programmer embeds dynamic elements that give the design functionality (Figure 5.1).
