Chapter 8. Administering Sitespring > Project-Site Settings

Project-Site Settings

If you read “Editing the Server Setup” earlier in this chapter, you'll notice that the way project-site configuration works is very similar. That's no mere coincidence, as project sites are hosted by a second application server that's of the same type as the server that hosts the main Sitespring application.

One of Sitespring's most important features is that it lets you change the host name or IP address of the project-site server independently of the main Sitespring site. It's likely that the project sites will be exposed to the outside world, while the main Sitespring site will be restricted to your local area network. Being able to set a unique host name and port number for the project-site server gives you more flexibility in how you configure your server to interact with your LAN and the Internet.
