Working with Table Borders

By default, when you insert a table in Standard View, a 1-pixel line, called a border, delineates the edges of the cells and the table. In Layout View, the border is set to 0 and marked with a dashed line. In either view, you can easily change the width and visibility of this border. (See the previous section on cell padding and cell spacing for more about table spacing.)

To adjust border size:

1.
Select the table.

In the Border text box, type a number and press Enter (Return), or click on the Apply button.
