Chapter 17. Drawing Timelines > Adding a Layer to a Timeline

Adding a Layer to a Timeline

You create a timeline by adding a layer to the Timelines panel. Once you drag or add the layer, Dreamweaver creates a timeline for it and adds the code to the page automatically.

To add a layer to a Timeline:

1.
Make sure the object you want to animate is in a layer, and that the layer has the size and position that you want it to start with. See Chapter 14 for help with layers.

2.
Select the layer in the Document window (Figure 17.13) by selecting its handle or tag.

Figure 17.13. Select the layer in the Document window. Notice that the Timelines panel doesn't have any objects in it yet.

3.
From the Document window menu bar, select Modify > Timeline > Add Object to Timeline.

or

Right-click (hold down the mouse button on a Mac) on an animation bar in the Timelines panel, and select Add Object from the pop-up menu.
