Adding New Scripts and Behaviors

If you're a veteran JavaScripter, and you want to set up your own scripts in Dreamweaver, you're more than welcome to. You can type or paste in a script using the Insert Script object, or you can set up your own actions to use in Dreamweaver behaviors.

To type in a script:

On the Objects panel, display the Invisibles panel by selecting it from the drop-down menu ( Figure 16.67 ). then click on the Insert Script button . Or, from the Document window menu bar, select Insert > Invisible Tags > Script. The Insert Script dialog box will appear ( Figure 16.68 ).

Type your script in the Insert Script dialog box, and click on OK. The Insert Script dialog box will close, and the Script icon will appear in the Document window.

Select the Script marker, if it isn't already selected, and display the Property inspector, if necessary ( Figure 16.69 ).

Select the type of script (JavaScript or VBScript) from the Language drop-down menu. If your script is in another scripting language, type the language's name in the Language text box.
