Selecting a Table

Now that all the content from the second table is in the first table, you no longer need the second table. To delete it, you need to select the table first. Dreamweaver provides several methods for selecting a table. You will find that some methods are easier to use than others, depending on the complexity of the table structure.

1.
In the biking_table.htm document, select the second table by positioning the pointer anywhere inside the table and selecting the <table> tag in the tag selector on the bottom-left corner of the document window. Alternatively, you can click inside the table, and then choose Modify >Table > Select Table.

TIP

You can also select a table by clicking the top-left corner of the table (Windows) or anywhere on the right or bottom edge. The pointer turns to a cross (Windows) or a hand (Macintosh) when you are close to the edge. Wait until the pointer changes before you click.

Selection handles appear around the table when it is selected. When the table is selected, you cannot see the black borders around any of the cells; you see only one black border around the entire table.

2.
With the table selected, press Delete to remove the second table.

The second table is gone.
