Lesson 10. Creating Layers > Using the Netscape Resize Layer Fix

Using the Netscape Resize Layer Fix

Netscape 4.x versions have a problem with layers when you resize the browser window: The layer changes its shape when the browser window is resized. This can cause problems with your page when the user resizes the browser window. You can fix the problem by inserting the Netscape Resize Fix JavaScript code in your document when you add layers. The code fixes the Netscape problem and will not affect Internet Explorer.

1.
In the layers.htm document, choose Commands > Add/Remove Netscape Resize Fix. If the option is to Add, click the Add button. If the option is to Remove, click the Cancel button.

In the Add/Remove Netscape Resize Fix dialog box that opens, you can either add or remove the JavaScript code. The code will cause the page to reload if the user resizes the browser window. Dreamweaver may have added this code to your page automatically; if not, you can add it easily with this dialog box.

2.
Save the document.
