About this lesson

In this lesson, you'll learn how to do the following:

  • Learn about Smart Object technology and see it in action.

  • Learn how to place, resize, and edit a Smart Photoshop Object.

  • Learn how to place and edit Illustrator files.

  • Learn how to place and edit LiveMotion files.

To complete this lesson fully, you'll need Adobe Photoshop 5.5, Adobe Illustrator 9.0, and Adobe LiveMotion 1.0 installed on your hard disk.

This lesson takes approximately 1 hour to complete.

If needed, copy the Lesson04 folder onto your hard drive. As you work on this lesson, you'll overwrite the start files. If you need to restore the start files, copy them from the Adobe GoLive 5.0 Classroom in a Book CD. Also, be sure to install the special fonts, as instructed in "Installing the Classroom in a Book fonts" on page 2, because these fonts are used in some of the graphics that you'll work with in this lesson.

Windows users need to unlock the lesson files before using them. For more information, see "Copying the Classroom in a Book files".

For information on setting up your work area, see "Setting up your work area".
