Lesson 13. Managing Web Sites > About Adobe GoLive Web site management

About Adobe GoLive Web site management

An Adobe GoLive Web site contains a site file, which it uses to manage and store data about the site. It is important that you do all your work, especially adding, removing, or renaming files, within the Adobe GoLive site file and not on the desktop. If you do add a file from the desktop, you will need to update your site window when you next open Adobe GoLive.

Another reason to work exclusively in Adobe GoLive is that it creates additional files and folders to contain the tools it uses to manage a site. For example, it creates a .data folder to hold components, stationeries, and site trash.
