Them changes: Conditions and status

One important abstraction in Lingo is that of the condition—setting and testing for conditions can be a significant part of your scripting. Simply put, a condition exists whenever there are two possible states for a Director element at any given moment: Something is either present or it isn't. This is not to be confused with conditionality, which is the introduction of commands based on an if…then structure.

Conditions: Lingo's on/off switch

In Chapter 4, we wrote a script that turned the sound on and off by toggling the status of the soundEnabled condition. The exact Lingo we used was this:
