Lingo bits: The elementary elements

Let's start by defining the elements that are easiest to pin down, the little bits of Lingo that require only a modicum of conceptual thinking to grasp.

Commands

We've already used the term command in the sense of a set of instructions to be carried out, but that definition could apply by extension to all of Lingo. From now on, we'll use the word command in the strictest sense: to refer to the specific word or word combination that implies an action. In this sense, commands are the verbs of Lingo.
