Chapter 7. More Production Tools > Points to remember

Points to remember

Time for another dose of the Big Picture:

  • To take advantage of the greater control Director 8 gives you over the arrangement and appearance of sprites, use its tidying tolls: the Guides, Grid, Align, Onion Skin, Tweak, and Text Inspector features.

  • There are six different display modes for the Score window, each of which emphasizes a different grouping of information about the individual sprites and channel instructions. You can switch among these modes at any time.

  • You can make the appearance and behavior of a sprite differ in a lot of ways from that of its source Cast member. In addition to the Score-level ink effects, you can apply trails and make a sprite moveable or editable.

  • Director has a whole bag of tricks for organizing and accessing portions of your protection. You can search for, rearrange, and print just about every aspect of a movie.

  • Director has a preference setting for many, many options. Review these regularly to see if any changes would improve your productivity.
