This chapter combines both big-picture issues and roll-up-your- sleeves exercises, as we review the thinking and organization that go into the process of multimedia planning and production.

We'll begin by considering the general aesthetic and practical issues that should be tackled even before Director is launched. Then we'll fire up the application and start on the basics of building a prototype to meet our considerations. In the process, you might learn a thing or two about programming for consistency and clarity and perhaps acquire some habits that'll save you hassles further down the line.
