Chapter 3. Working with Text

Chapter 3. Working with Text

Adding text is just about the easiest task there is for a Web page developer. But formatting text to look the way you want it to, or getting it to appear at the precise location on the page it should, requires a bit more thought. You must add HTML tags to the text to tell browsers what typeface, size, and style you want the text to have, and you'll need more HTML tags to ensure that the text is placed properly.

Adobe GoLive's text handling features are a familiar combination of word processing and page layout tools that build the HTML you need graphically. You can create text in GoLive or copy it from elsewhere. From there, you can edit, format, position, search, spell check, and manipulate text and text blocks to polish your Web pages.

In this chapter, I cover:

  • Entering text

  • Formatting text

  • Formatting text blocks

  • Spell checking

  • Finding and replacing text
