Chapter 8. Working with Forms > Adding Form Elements

Adding Form Elements

Think of the Form tag you just created as a container; it encloses the rest of the items that make up your Web page form and includes instructions (the Method and Action elements) that indicate how the form's input and output should be handled. Every element of the form must fall between the <FORM> and </FORM> HTML tags. You'll see these tags only if you examine your page with GoLive's HTML Outline Editor or HTML Source Editor. When you add form elements in the Layout Editor, they should be added to the area bounded by the Form tag you added in the previous section. All items included within a form tag are controlled by that tag.

Tip

The Form element Inspectors shown in the next few sections include a section labeled Focus. I'll describe how to use Focus later in this chapter. For now, I will concentrate on options related to the specific form elements.
