How Forms Work

To a Web site visitor and, perhaps, to a Web page designer, forms look and behave just like any other Web page element. Most forms are integrated with text and graphics, and their appearance is usually designed to complement the overall look of the page.

What differentiates forms is how they work behind the scenes. When a user enters text in a form, clicks a checkbox, and hits the Submit button, the form's work is done. From that point on, the Web server takes over.
