Chapter 1. Learning Your Way Around > Site Management Tools

Site Management Tools

GoLive includes tools for managing complete Web sites. By gathering elements of your Web site, you can make global changes to the site, organize HTML and media files, and verify that all of your links work. You can also use site management tools to view a map of your entire site, either as a collection of linked pages, or as a group of links going to and from a single page. Finally, you can upload your site to a Web server using GoLive's FTP tool.

The Site window

The Site window displays the files and other elements that make up a GoLive Web site. Like the Macintosh Finder, or Windows Explorer, the Site window displays files and folders that you can open or manipulate when making changes to the site's hierarchy. When you create a new site, GoLive creates a home page for it (called index.html). A new Site window appears as in Figure 1.34.
