The Inspector

The Objects palette and the context-sensitive Inspector work together to give you control over the tools you use to build Web pages. In fact, they're the heart of the page-building interface. Once you have placed an item (text, image, multimedia file, applet, or other object) on the page, you can fine-tune its attributes in the Inspector. The Inspector window is empty until you select an object in GoLive, and its appearance and options change depending upon the object you choose.

To use the Inspector:

1.
Drag an icon from the Objects palette into the Document window, or click an object that's already there.

2.
Notice that the Inspector window is no longer empty, but contains buttons and fields. (If you don't see the Inspector, choose Window > Inspector.)

3.
Click another object, or type some text in the Document window, and notice that the Inspector changes again to display the options for the new object.
