Using Variables

As you build the next section of the multimedia advertisement, you will use one of Lingo's most powerful features: variables. First, however, you need to understand how this feature works.

A variable is a container, like a cup, that can hold different values, such as a name or a number. You can assign a value to a variable with the set or put into command or the equal (=) operator. A variable is created the first time you assign a value to it, which is also called initializing the variable.
