Lesson 22. Optimizing Scripts

Lesson 22. Optimizing Scripts

Now that you have put together the robot arm project in Lesson 21, it's time to optimize the scripts you just created. In this lesson, you will use variables, make statements easier to read, and add final touches, including incorporating sound and preloading information into memory to speed up the playback of the project.

If you would like to view the final result of this lesson, open the Complete folder in the Lesson22 folder and play Robot2.dir.

Figure . The lingo code in the final version of this project is optimized to make the program more flexible, easier to read, and faster.

Also included in the Complete folder is Robots3.dir, a part of the final robot version as created by Pulse Entertainment. To operate this example, start the movie running and then click or drag in the upper left viewing area. The robot arm should appear, accompanied by a synchronized mechanical motion sound.
