Lesson 18. Navigating with Lingo > Implementing a Quit Button

Implementing a Quit Button

The main menu has a Quit button that users can click when they're finished using your application. As you did with other buttons, you need to create a cast member script with a mouseUp handler, because you always want a click on this button to produce the same action.

Lingo provides a quit command that you would think is the perfect tool for this situation. However, there is one problem with using quit while your Fine Dining application is under construction: the quit command actually quits Director itself, just as if you chose File > Exit (Windows) or File > Quit (Macintosh). It would be too time consuming to test the Quit button by actually quitting Director itself.
