Lesson 6. More Animation Techniques > Setting Movie Properties

Setting Movie Properties

In your first project in this lesson, you use Modify > Sprite > Tweening to create animation along a circular path to make an image of the earth move in a circle around the sun. Your first task is to import an image of the earth.

1.
Choose File > Open and select the Start1.dir movie in the Start folder for Lesson 6 (Windows Ctrl+O, Macintosh Command+O).

This movie includes an image of the sun that has already been placed in the score. You will import an image of the earth and sequence it in the score so that it orbits the sun.

2.
Choose File > Save As and save the movie as Orbit1.dir (Windows Ctrl+S, Macintosh Command+S).

3.
Choose File > Import and select the earth.pct file in the Media folder on the CD (Windows Ctrl+R, Macintosh Command+R). Click Add and then click Import.

Because the graphic is a 32-bit image and the stage is set to 8-bit color depth, the Image Options dialog box is displayed. Remember that if your system's color depth is set higher than 8 bits, the stage setting also will be higher.

4.
In the Image Options dialog box, click Stage (8 bits) and then click OK.

Thumbnails of the sun and the earth now appear in the cast.
