Lesson 7. keyframes and layers > Setting the Movie Tempo

Setting the Movie Tempo

Now you will set the speed of the movie by setting its tempo.

1.
Open the score (Windows Ctrl+4, Macintosh Command+4).

2.
Toggle the Hide/Show Effects Channel button, if necessary, so that the tempo channel is visible.

3.
Double-click frame 1 of the tempo channel to open the Tempo dialog box and drag the Tempo slider to 10 fps. Click OK.

Figure .

The frame rate you set in the Tempo dialog box is a requested rate only, not an absolute rate. If the computer is capable of playing the movie at the requested rate, it will. However, slower machines may not be able to achieve the faster tempo settings that can be specified in the Tempo dialog box.

4.
Toggle the Hide/Show Effects Channel button off so the effects channels are hidden and there is more room in the score to show the sprite channels.
