Lesson 14. Fonts and Menus

Lesson 14. Fonts and Menus

Although the Gallery production you are creating is not as complex as the full Gallery CD that the previous lessons were based on, you are creating a visually interesting program, and one that makes use of a number of Director capabilities. In this lesson, you will build on the Gallery production to learn some additional capabilities.

To provide the user with additional navigational capabilities, you will add custom menus to the program. These will allow the user to select a scene for viewing from a standard pull-down menu on the menu bar. You will also add the exit scene for the Gallery. In the process of finishing the Gallery tour, the user will see some animation and some fading in of descriptive text. You will learn how to use embedded fonts to

Figure . The last screen your viewers see in a presentation should be like your signature, something unique and distinctive that identifies the project. Rather than have your movie abruptly end when users click and exit button, you can ease them out of the experience using a closing sequence of animation and fades.

ensure that users will see the text just as you want it to look, whether or not users have the necessary fonts installed on their systems.

If you would like to see the final result of this lesson, open the Complete folder in the Lesson 14 folder and play Gallery3.dir.
