Creating Buttons

In this task, you will add buttons so you can select which of the two animations you view: forward or backward.

1.
In the score, place the playback head in frame 1. Choose Insert > Control > Push Button.

An empty button appears with a flashing insertion point where you can type a label.

2.
Type Forward in the button.

3.
Click the stage outside the button and then click the button itself to select it.

Clicking outside the button deselects the button for text entry. When you reselect the button, you can alter its size and drag it to a new position on the stage.

4.
Drag one of the button's handles to resize the button to your satisfaction. Then drag the button to the bottom of the stage, just left of center.

The Forward button becomes cast member 10 and is automatically placed in channel 8 of the score with the default length of 28 frames.

5.
Repeat steps 1 through 4 to place a button labeled Backwardto the right of the Forward button.

The Backward button becomes cast member 11 in channel 9 of the score.

6.
In the score, drag the end frame indicators of the button sprites in channels 8 and 9 to channel 70.

Now the button sprites span all the frames in the movie. The two buttons will remain on the stage throughout the entire movie.
