Lesson 1. Director Basics > Opening The Score

Opening The Score

To tell cast members when to appear on the stage, what to do, and when to exit, the cast members need a script. In Director, the script is known as the score. You use the score to sequence and synchronize the actions of the cast.

The horizontal rows in the score are called channels. The channels are used for different jobs. You'll learn how to use these channels later in this book.
