Creating a Property List from Field Text

In Director, you can create two types of lists: linear lists and property lists. As you learned in Lesson 24, a linear list is a single variable that can hold multiple distinct items. The items can be text, numbers, or a mixture of different data. A linear list simply lists values separated by commas.

Property lists are similar to linear lists, but they have an additional capability: they let you define properties for each list item (analogous to the field names in a database). Each property has a name that defines the kind of information it holds. For example, look at this property list variable:
