Retrieving Data from the Property List

In the previous task, you used the Debugger to see step by step how the property list is generated. Now you need a way to retrieve information from that property list. Director has a built-in mechanism for doing exactly that. You will use the getaProp command to retrieve data from the list. The syntax for this command is getaProp(list, positionOrProperty).

The getaProp command identifies the data associated with the specified position (for a linear list) or property (for a property list) in the named list. The command returns the result <Void> when the list does not contain the specified position or property. You'll use the Message window to test this command in the next task.
